Looking after your wellbeing

Looking after your social health

Your social life is one of the most exciting parts of university.

Our Students’ Union (run by students, for students) is there to provide so many social opportunities to allow you to get the most out of your student experience. Our SU offers something for everyone with:

  • Over 200 unique societies.
  • 70+ sports clubs with everything from wheelchair basketball to windsurfing.
  • Over 100 volunteering projects.
  • A diverse range of student-run groups including University Radio Nottingham (URN), Nottingham New Theatre and Impact Magazine.
  • Events such as fairs, pub quizzes, live music, club nights, speed dating and comedy nights in venues both on and off campus.

You will find out loads more about the opportunities in your first few weeks but before you arrive take your time to think about what activities you would like to try out and visit at the Welcome Fair.

If you do struggle to meet new people, or are anxious about not meeting people, there are so many support networks in the SU, your School and in your accommodation which you can get involved in. Just ask!

Top Tip:  Follow @uonsu on Instagram to get a sense of how much effort the team puts in for our students.
