Looking after your wellbeing
Looking after your faith and spirituality
Whatever your background or faith, our university is here to offer spiritual and pastoral support to each student.
Prayer spaces
The university provides a range of rooms on every campus for prayer and religious observance. This includes a Christian chapel and Muslim prayer rooms, as well as multi-faith prayer rooms which are available to all faiths. These rooms have periods where they are available for personal prayer and reflection, and bookable periods for University of Nottingham student faith groups (Muslim prayer rooms are NOT bookable).
You can see exactly where each prayer space is located and find out more information on practising your religion on our website. For students based in the Queens Medical Centre, QMC has a Multi-Faith Centre (including Chapel, Mosque Mandir, Gurdwara and Synagogue) open all day and night on D Floor, East block.
Chaplaincy and faith support
All students of any faith or none can access the chaplaincy to:
- Engage with your faith community.
- Access space to pray or meditate.
- Receive general pastoral support.
Faith societies
The University of Nottingham Students' Union has many societies based around different religions and spiritualities. They are easy to join and are always welcoming new members. Being part of a faith society will make you part of its community, enabling you to practice your religion with like-minded students.
Top Tip: Download the AccessAble app which provides practical information and locations of prayer rooms, parenting rooms, and quiet spaces. |
