Looking after your wellbeing

Looking after your mental health

We all need to work on our mental wellbeing sometimes.

It's important to take care of your mental wellbeing the same way you would for your physical health. Being proactive about this can play a key part in having a successful time at university. How you do so is completely up to you - you can take little steps to get into a routine which is balanced, fun and works for you.

Q

Take a break and enjoy some me time

Come up with an action plan for the week

Do something fun with your friends

Check answers

It's important to know what works for you, so technically many of these answers could be right or wrong. Just make sure to keep in mind, your mind!

If you are unsure what is impacting your mental wellbeing, then try asking these questions:

  • Has anything changed in your life recently or have you been feeling like this for a while?
  • Do these issues only occur at certain times or around certain people?
  • Has anyone else in your life communicated they feel the same way?
Identifying the problem may help you come up with the right solution.

At the University of Nottingham, we have a dedicated support and wellbeing team here to help you get through tough times. They will be more than happy to speak to you online or face to face.
