Looking after your wellbeing

Disability Support

We are a truly inclusive university community and work to create an equitable university experience.

From the teaching and learning environment to our inclusive sport provision, our specialist services are focussed on student-led support to allow you to get what you want out of university.

If you have a disability, mental health difficulty, long-term medical condition, autistic spectrum condition, or a specific learning difference such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia or ADHD get in touch with our Disability Support Services who can help to get a support plan in place from day 1. To ensure a smooth transition get in touch, before you arrive on campus, for information on everything from financial funding, transport around campus, assistance animals to academic support and reasonable adjustments.

Sport is for Everyone

Whether you want support in the gym, to join a sports club, join the gym quiet time or access specialist strength and conditioning services, the UoN Sport can support you in your ambitions. Also, check how many of our societies offer inclusive sessions.

We all deserve to live in comfort.

If you are applying for accommodation and have an individual requirement, please let us know so we can make reasonable adjustments for your comfort and safety. Students who have accommodation adjustments in place because of their disability can stay in our adjusted accommodation for the duration of their studies.

Top Tip:  Download the AccessAble app which provides practical information about access routes on your campus and the wider city centre including facilities such as prayer rooms, parenting rooms, gender-neutral toilets and quiet spaces.
